The HOUSE
Welcome to 13 Saryan Street, to the house of architecture historian Varazdat Harutunian and architect Gohar Kankanian. Since 1938 this house was always full of artists, intellectuals, students who gathered here for various occasions. We restored the house n 2017-2018 meticulously preserving the details and opened it to the public.
Our cuisine
Cuisine at Gouroo is based on the healthy food preparation principles. We use special cooking methods and ingredients in aiming to create exquisitely delicious dishes. Sugar, white flour, refined oils, and any pre-processed products are not to be found in the dishes.
our desserts
Our desserts are completely sugar-free. We use Jerusalem artichoke syrup instead as a healthy choice advised by nutritionists. All the flours we use in our desserts are whole grain. We also suggest a wide variety of gluten-free, vegan or raw desserts. We create slow-carb healthy sweets so everyone can indulge the pleasure of having a dessert.
OUR ECO BAR
Gouroo Eco Bar was founded on the ideas of providing a fun option for the best tasting, highest quality healthy beverages. Our bar menu is seasonal and constantly evolving. We have rediscovered many of the most popular cocktails by replacing commercial sugar containing syrups and liquors with our own cold pressed purees, juices and Jerusalem artichoke syrup or organic honey used as sweeteners.

Gouroo-ing: A Philosophy
Gouroo is a philosophy for eating and living that prioritizes health, taste, and happiness all in one measure.

Joy and awareness
For us, Gouroo-ing means having awareness about what’s healthy for you and your environment. It means enjoying food while preserving its natural benefits. It means making healthy dining easy and effortless. In short, it means savoring life’s pleasures.
Gouroo: the meaning
Our name is a marriage of two words: the French “gourmet,” meaning a connoisseur of food, and the Hindi “guru,” meaning teacher. Put these two together and you get the playfully misspelled “Gouroo” — a word that’s more than a cheeky name.
Preserving Yerevan's history
The Gouroo lifestyle is one of consciousness, and that’s reflected in the history of our beautiful location. Our restaurant lives in the historic home of Varazdat Haroutunian and Gohar Kankanian, renowned Armenian architects of the twentieth century.
